How it works

Set up your team in an afternoon

  1. Create your organization

    Name it after your business and share its invite link on WhatsApp. Your staff join as soon as they sign up.

  2. Give the day’s tasks

    One task per job, with a person, a date and a priority. Set the daily and monthly ones to repeat, once.

  3. Check the figures, not the people

    Not accepted, overdue and under review sit at the top of your list. Follow up only where it is needed.

An example day with Karo

Here is how a day can look for an owner with a small team. The names are examples.

  • 9:30 am. Before you leave home, you open Karo. The figures at the top say 2 tasks are not accepted yet and 1 is overdue. You ring the nudge bell on the overdue one instead of calling.
  • 10:00 am. You give Suresh “Book the AC service for Saturday” with a date, and Ravi “Send the March bills to the CA” with a voice note saying which ones. Both accept within the hour.
  • 1:00 pm. Ravi asks for one more day because the courier is late. You approve the new date, and the task shows what was agreed.
  • 6:00 pm. The restocking task comes back for your review with a photo of the shelf. You approve it from your phone.
  • Month end. You export the month’s tasks to Excel for your accountant.

The daily opening checks and the monthly GST work were set up once as repeating tasks, so nobody types them again.

Organizations

Your shop, your office, your family business. One list.

In Karo, anyone can make an organization, and you can be in as many as you need. Your Tasks screen shows All, General and each of your organizations, with its open count.

  • Owner, Admin and Member roles. Owners and admins see every task filed under the organization.
  • Invite people by Karo Pin or from your connections. They accept before they join.
  • Or share the organization’s invite link on WhatsApp: new people join right after they sign up.
  • Switch between organizations from a searchable list, or show them as tabs in your order.

Which app can I use to assign tasks to employees for free?

You can use Karo. It is free for you and for every employee you give tasks to, with no price per person, and an organization can have up to 500 people. Is Karo really free?

How do my staff join?

Share your organization’s invite link on WhatsApp or anywhere. Whoever opens it joins as a member, and people new to Karo join right after they sign up. You can also invite people by their Karo Pin.

Do my staff need smartphones?

They need Karo on an Android phone, an iPhone or a computer. Karo is free for them too.

Can my staff use Karo in Hindi?

Yes, in the Karo app on Android and iPhone: each person picks English, Hindi, Kannada, Tamil, Telugu or Malayalam. Alerts, emails and the web app are in English for now.

Can a manager give tasks for me?

Yes. Make them an admin of your organization. Owners and admins see every task filed under it.

What if someone cannot finish on time?

They can ask for more time in Karo. You approve or decline the new date, and everyone sees the answer.

Can I see who did what last month?

Yes. Every task keeps its history, and you can export your tasks to Excel for any period you filter.
